HyperTeams vs Hermes Agent

One side makes the agent smarter. The other makes it something other people can rely on.

The short version

Hermes Agent is a self-hosted agent that accumulates memory and skills as you use it. A cron scheduler is built in, so recurring runs are a config away, and one cheap VPS is enough to host it. HyperTeams does not try to copy that direction. What it adds is not a smarter agent but a state you can hand to someone else with nobody watching — several machines on one screen, work assigned by others filtered through approval, and an answer to "who spent what."

Which one should you pick?

When to just use Hermes

  • When you want it to improve as you go

    It hardens repeated work into skill documents on its own. For slowly training a personal assistant, that side is clearly better.

  • When cost has to be minimal

    MIT open source, running on one cheap VPS. Nothing to pay beyond the LLM you attach.

  • Alone, on one server

    A command layer starts to matter when the machine count or the head count goes up. Until then it is just one more layer.
