HyperTeams vs Manus
Manus is an agent that does the work for you in its cloud, paid in credits. HyperTeams is a control room that runs several of your coding agents on your own machine, on the subscription you already have.

Why HyperTeams over Manus
Manus is a general-purpose agent: sign up and it researches, builds slides and websites in a Manus cloud VM. HyperTeams is stronger when the work has to run on your own machine and your own subscription. Instructions and results stay on your computer, Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex or Antigravity run on the Claude or ChatGPT subscription or Google account you already pay for, and work that colleagues or customers assign gets per-item approval and cost attributed per person. HyperTeams neither replaces Manus nor drives it. Keep work that finishes on the web in Manus and put work in your own folders in HyperTeams; they sit side by side.
Where the work runs, where the data stays
Tasks run in a Manus cloud VM and history stays in your Manus account. With the desktop app it can also work in local folders you authorize.
The control room runs on your computer. Instructions and results stay there; the only thing leaving it is the question going to the AI you picked.
Your subscription, not a new credit meter
Every task spends Manus credits. Tasks run on your own computer through the desktop app spend them at the same rate as cloud tasks.
Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex or Antigravity run on the Claude or ChatGPT subscription or Google account you already pay for. No separate developer key.
Allowing it yourself vs filtering what others assign
My Computer runs commands on its own inside folders you authorize and asks the person using it only about sensitive ones.
HyperTeams Connect is built for when others assign work to your machine: accounts and roles, policy per folder and command, pre-approval per item, and a record of who approved what and when.
Splitting cost by person and team
The Team plan pools credits and shows usage in an admin dashboard.
Cost attaches to each job, is attributed to a person and a team, and can be capped.
HyperTeams vs Manus
- ManusIn a Manus cloud VM. The desktop app can also work in local folders you authorize.
- HyperTeams SystemExecution stays on that machine — the control room sits on top rather than taking it over.
- HyperTeams ConnectIt does not touch execution; it receives what the control room reports.
- ManusSeveral tasks at once in the cloud; your plan sets how many.
- HyperTeams SystemOne card per job — hand it five and five run side by side, in five folders.
- HyperTeams ConnectThe control room does this
- ManusWatch each task's steps in the Manus web or desktop app.
- HyperTeams SystemStatus, a summary of the answer, and an unread marker, all in one list.
- HyperTeams ConnectThe control room does this
- ManusKeeps running in their cloud. Local work needs the desktop app open.
- HyperTeams SystemResident, and it records progress: it continues after you close the window, and a tunnel shows it on your phone.
- HyperTeams ConnectThe control room does this
- ManusScheduled tasks, which can continue inside the same task context.
- HyperTeams SystemYou pick a time on screen, and a failure notifies you.
- HyperTeams ConnectThe control room does this
- ManusWork lives in one Manus account; the desktop app links your computer to it.
- HyperTeams SystemIt stops at that one machine. It does not know what runs on the next one.
- HyperTeams ConnectA control room per machine, all of them in one list — including which machine is awake.
- ManusTeam plan: shared projects, sharing permissions and admin access control.
- HyperTeams SystemIt assumes the owner of the machine. The screen is behind one password.
- HyperTeams ConnectAccounts and roles, policy per folder and command, and pre-approval per item.
- ManusTask history in your account; audit logs on the Team plan.
- HyperTeams SystemIt keeps that machine's run history. There is no notion of an approval.
- HyperTeams ConnectWho approved what, and when, kept as a policy audit trail.
- ManusCredits per task. Teams share a credit pool.
- HyperTeams SystemIt shows cost per job on that machine, with no owner attached.
- HyperTeams ConnectAttributed to a person and a team, with ceilings.
- ManusFree and paid plans with monthly credits; Team is per seat.
- HyperTeams SystemOne command to install, using the Claude or ChatGPT account you already have.

Manus docsWhat the control room does, and what Connect does
HyperTeams is two products. Which of them answers each row above is exactly where the boundary sits.
HyperTeams System
Runs the work on your machine
A program you install with one command. It assigns work per folder, runs jobs in parallel, and keeps going after you close the window. While you work alone, this is all you need.
- Where it runs
- Several jobs at once
- How far along it is
- If you close the window
- At a set time
HyperTeams Connect
Makes it something others rely on, unattended
It starts paying the moment there is a second machine and a second person: pooling machines into one list, filtering work others assign through approval, keeping an audit trail of what happened, and splitting cost per person.
- Several machines in one place
- When someone else assigns work
- Retracing it later
- What it cost
When do you move up a rung?
- L1 · Observe
You watch several machines. The moment there is a second one.
- L2 · Share
The team sees what was asked for. The moment you start sharing one password.
- L3 · Delegate
Others assign work and see the results. This is where approval, policy, and audit earn their place.
Running both
You don't remove or migrate what you use today. Here is how to layer HyperTeams on top of it.
- 1
Leave Manus running
Keep web research, slides and websites, the work that finishes in their cloud, in Manus.
- 2
Install the control room with one command
Paste one command on the machine that will do the work. It drives the Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex or Antigravity you have, on the subscription you already pay for.
- 3
Move the work that needs your machine
Send work that touches your folders and installed tools, plus work others assign, through HyperTeams. Neither drives the other; they sit side by side.
Which one should you pick?
When to just use Manus
When there must be nothing to install
An account is the whole setup, on web, desktop or mobile. No machine to keep on.
When the research and the output live on the web
It drives a browser, researches broadly, and builds slides, websites and images. Outside of code, the range of what it produces is wider.
When you cannot leave your computer on
The work runs in their cloud, so it continues after you close the laptop. HyperTeams System needs the machine it is installed on to stay awake.
When HyperTeams is the answer
When you already use Claude Code or Codex
HyperTeams SystemKeep the agents and subscriptions you have and add the control room on top. Pick the engine per job, with a default per folder.
When several jobs run in your own folders
HyperTeams SystemGive each registered folder a job card and run them together. Edit the result right there, with a history of what changed and when.
When colleagues or customers assign work to your machine
HyperTeams ConnectPolicy per folder and command and pre-approval per item filter it, and who approved what, and when, is kept as a policy audit trail.
When several computers do the work
HyperTeams ConnectA control room per machine, all of them in one list, including which machine is awake right now.
A layer, not a replacement
Put it on top of what you already run
One command to install. Nothing you use today gets removed or moved — you only add the command screen above it.

Common questions
Manus is a general-purpose AI agent that researches, drives a browser, runs code and builds slides and websites for you in a cloud VM. It has web, desktop and mobile apps and is paid for with credits on a plan.
Partly. For work that runs through coding agents in folders on your own computer, HyperTeams fits better and uses the subscription you already have. Manus is strong at research and output that finishes on the web, so running both is the natural setup.
Yes. Neither replaces the other; they sit side by side. Work that finishes in the cloud goes to Manus; work on your own machine, and work others assign, goes through HyperTeams.
Manus bills in its own credits. HyperTeams System does not spend credits of its own; it uses the Claude or ChatGPT subscription you already have, and only the HyperTeams Connect features that cross into a team are metered in credits.
With the control room, instructions and results stay on your computer; the only thing leaving it is the question going to the AI you picked. Manus processes tasks in its cloud and keeps their history in your account.
