The two

1. An agent CLI — any one of three

HyperTeams drives the three below. One of them is enough.

Install more than one and you can pick per job, with a default engine per folder. Starting out, install the one whose subscription you already pay for.

The install command (next chapter) only fetches Claude Code for you. For the other two it prints a one-line install instead: how they are distributed varies by machine, and a one-line instruction beats an install that half succeeds.

Claude Code

After installing, run it once and log in.

ChatGPT Codex

It installs through npm, so Node.js has to come first (section 2 below).

codex login opens a browser and asks for your ChatGPT account.

Antigravity

Run it once and sign in with your Google account.

Why the login matters

HyperTeams uses this login directly. Log in here and you will never need to enter a key into HyperTeams.

Verify

A version number from whichever one you installed means you are ready.

If you get command not found, the terminal that was already open when you installed has not picked up the change. Open a new terminal window and try again.

2. Node.js

Install

Get the LTS version from nodejs.org. LTS means "long term support" and is the stable line.

Run the installer and accept the defaults.

Checking both

One agent plus Node.js; if both print a version you can move on.

On Codex or Antigravity, swap the first command for codex --version or agy --version.

Where people get stuck

"I installed it but get command not found"

Nine times out of ten, opening a new terminal fixes it. The installer changes your path settings, and an already-open terminal does not know about the change.

If that does not work, restart the computer.

"Windows blocks the script"

PowerShell's security settings. Open PowerShell as administrator and try again, or if it is a work machine, ask your IT team.

"It's a work machine and I don't have install rights"

You will need help from IT. When asking, explain it like this:

"I need Node.js LTS and one AI agent CLI — Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex or Antigravity. All are development tools, distributed officially from nodejs.org, claude.ai, npm and antigravity.google."

"The login fails"

That is unrelated to HyperTeams. You have to resolve that agent's own login first.

Check yourself

1. Why do you not need to enter an API key into HyperTeams?

Answer

Because it uses the agent's login directly. That is why running claude (or codex login, or agy) once after installing, to log in, is an important step.

2. Do you have to install all three agents?

Answer

No — one is enough. Installing several lets you pick per job and set a default engine per folder, but getting started takes only one.

3. What command confirms you can move on?

Answer
